Review: Vigil (Notturno #2) by Z.A. Maxfield

5 Stars

I loved the first Notturno book, and didn't know there was going to be a second one until a little bit ago, then when I finally had it I delayed in reading it thinking, what could happen in this one? How can it compare with how good the first one was? Well, I was surprised and delighted to read and find that it could compare and exceed the first book!

In this second installment of the incredible talented Z.A. Maxfield's Notturno series, we have the ever impulsive Adin being mistaken of the identity of someone else, which leads him to the sale of an underage boy named Bran.

Adin can't leave the boy, so he takes advantage of the mistaken identity to rescue the boy and take him to the authorities. But all to soon it becomes clear that while Bran may be under age he is not an ordinary boy.
Of course protecting this boy isn't going to go well, and soon it becomes clear that unless Adin finds out who wants the boy and why he was being sold in the first place that it inst safe for either of them.

So, he enlists the help of his boyfriend Dante, but his impulsiveness in this situation just confirms Dante's feelings of his fragile human nature and he will not be happy until Adin consents to become immortal.

I loved this one and was happy to learn there will be a third.
