Review: Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress #1) by Jeaniene Frost

5 Stars
Pages: 358
Read Count: 3
This book is an all time favorite for me having been my first real book into the vampire/paranormal genre. (Well besides Twilight, but none of these sparkled.)

In this book, the first in the Night Huntress series we meet Cat, a half-vampire, half human. A vampire hater/killer. Also, Bones. A bounty hunter. A vampire. Bones was very sexy, smart, funny, and witty as hell and... ENGLISH!! I don't know about you guys but I have always loved the thought of an English accent, so that just threw more fuel to my love for him.

Cat was very... against vampires because of her father but I liked how Bones just shook off the insults and pushed her until she finally began to act like the Cat we now know and love by the end of the novel! Cat’s mom, she was... something, huh? The kind of character you love to hate.

I loved but hated the ending; loved it because of the mystery, all the questions. Hated it because I was like..."What?"

This is a book that hooks you on the first sentence, if you haven't picked it up I beg you to do so if you like the sound of it! Altogether wonderful book will probably be read again one day, but I have also heard good/bad things about the audio version and don't know whether to give it a shot or not in case it ruins the image I have of Cat and Bones.
