Review: Ark Angel (Alex Rider #6) by Anthony Horowitz

4 Stars
Series: Alex Rider
Pages:  336
Read Count: 2
Alex Rider lives, after nearly being killed by a sniper bullet, at the end of the last book Scorpia, Alex is now in the hospital recuperating. He only has one day left before he is allowed to go home. When a group of people come in to kidnap the kid in the room beside him, Alex must act to protect him.

Force Three, a group of eco-terrorist, has personally targeted Nikolai Drevin, a billionaire, because his project-- Ark Angel-- the first hotel in space is a threat to the environment. It just so happens that his son, Paul was the boy in the room next to Alex's.

Having saved his son Paul, Nikolai invites Alex to stay with him for the rest of his R&R, and though Alex hesitates, he agrees to go,and immediately begins to regret it as he finds that Force Three will do anything to get rid of Ark Angel, even if it means killing millions.

And so begins another very intriguing book by Anthony Horowitz. First off I have to say that this book did seem to be lacking something, though I don't know what. Maybe a little of the authors usual action scenes in the Alex Rider series. Not that I am saying the book didn't have any action in it, it did, a lot, but not as much, neither did it seem to have as much suspense as we had in the last books. (Or this all could be because this is my second reading.)

So all in all the book did seem a little on the mild side to me until we get around the middle to the end of the book. This is where Ark Angel really picks up the action, mystery and adventure we all love and expect from the series.

I would recommend this book for everyone/anyone, as I said before it is a series that any genre reader/age group can love. Though I would definitely say before reading this book you should read the first ones in the series to have some background information.
