Review: Snakehead (Alex Rider #7) by Anthony Horowitz

5 Stars
Series: Alex Rider
Pages: 398
Read Count: 2
Alex Rider is back in this world after falling from outer space, after the destruction of Ark Angel--the space hotel-- in the last book. After crash-landing off the coast of Australia, the Australian Secret Service recruits him for a job to infiltrate on of the most ruthless known organizations operating across South East Asia, Snakehead.

Alex only accepts the operation when he learns his godfather Ash, who he didn't know existed until now, would be his partner giving him a chance to learn about him and his parents.

I absolutely loved this seventh installment of Alex Rider!! Alex goes on one of his most dangerous missions yet, and we find that Scorpia is anything but out of work after Alex failed their last big plan in Scorpia--the Invisible Sword. We learn of their new plan, being taken care of by Snakehead boss and Scorpia founder, Major Yu. A plan that will kill thousands and cause irreparable destruction in more places than one.

In this one we see how Alex didn't want to take the job like in other books but in the end does when the mention of Ash, his godfather, comes into play. Again Alex is saying how he doesn't want anymore jobs, and I do think one part of him really wants that, but I do believe there is another part of him that doesn't want to stop with the missions.

The author really takes us on a ride in this book with his usually action-adventure while still incorporating the suspense and slight mystery. Also with all the research he done for this novel the settings in the book has an authentic feel to it which I think adds to the feel of mystery and suspense.

And the ending, I could hardly believe it even though I knew what was going to happen from reading the book the first time. It still shocked me, emotionally, as I think it will anyone who has stuck with the series from the beginning.

Snakehead is definitely a must read for Alex fans!!
