Review: Bloody Bones (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #5) by Laurell K. Hamilton

3 Stars
Pages: 384
Read Count: 3
In this fifth book Anita is told by her boss, Bert that she was hired by a law firm to raise zombies from a disrupted graveyard to help settle a legal matter. Most animators couldn't do-- Anita might be able too. Soon there is body's on the ground...

This book to me though good and sets the stage for future books, was not as good as the first couple of books.

We do see more of Jean-Claude, as Anita calls him to come down and help her. So we learn a little bit more about him and how he feels for Anita and she for him. Though well and good I have to say she wasn't very grateful that he basically dropped everything to come to her.

I have to say I missed Richard in this book. (And Edward!! Can't forget him.) We see him at the start of the book, in his element, at school, again that was interesting being able to actually SEE Richard as a teacher instead of just knowing about it.

Larry, Anita's apprentice, Animator in training was also in the book and we see him get his first good look at the monsters in this one. He kind of reminds me of a male Anita..just maybe when she was a lot younger.

Altogether though the book only gets three stars. Progressive, character development, fast why only three stars? I don't know to be honest, it just feels like something in the book was either off or missing.

I would recommend to Anita Blake lovers.
