Review: Burnt Offerings (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #7) by Laurell K. Hamilton

3 Stars
Read Count: 3
Pages: 394
In this seventh Anita Blake novel the vampire Council has come to St. Louis and there is arsonist out to get the city's undead.

This book to me, though I liked it and it is essential to the series, I didn't really love it.

Again it is essential to the series, I think. We learn all kinds of new things--about vampires and werewolves alike but we also get the introduction to a lot of new characters that will be in future books. Like the leopards.
We knew of them of course because of Gabriel, but in this one we really get to see a lot more of them and learn some about them.

One thing I did find interesting in this book was--you guessed it, the Council. It really was hard not to be curious about them, really. So that was definitely interesting and I have to say my favorite was Asher but also, surprisingly the Traveler.

Also, we see Richard again for the first time after Anita slept with Jean-Claude- so you have to know I found that very interesting!

On a sad note, there was no Edward in this book. :(

I would recommend to people who read and loved the first books in the series also to paranormal romance readers.
