Review: The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus #1) by Rick Riordan

5 Stars
The Lost Hero
Series: Heroes of Olympus
Author: Rick Riordan
Pages: 557
I absolutely loved this novel!!

Another prophecy, more new and dangerous enemy's and three new demigods in Rick Riordan's magical and unique world!

In it we meet Jason. Who wakes up in the back of a bus beside a girl, Piper, that says she is his girl friend and a boy, Leo, who says he is his best friend, with no memory of who he is or how he got there.

Piper is the daughter of a famous actor and is harboring a potentially deadly secret but she is not the only one. Leo has a secret of his own, one that has haunted him most of his life.

It honestly took a while for me to pick this book up and start reading it, I mean I loved the authors Percy Jackson and the Olympians series-- how could this book compare?? Well, I have to say if I loved the authors Percy Jackson series then this novel is as people have been saying-- The Lost Hero is EPIC!

Once I started reading I was immediately drawn back into the world and I could hardly put it down! The mythology in the book-- even having read the other series, just never fails to amaze me how the author uses it with the modern- weaving a web of intrigue. And in this one we get some of the Roman side as well with the Greek.

It is very fast-paced and our new demigods are very interesting. I also liked how the author let us see all three of their point of view's.

It is pretty much the same world as in his Percy Jackson series with a few new twist, turns and revelations. That being said we visit characters from that series mainly Rachel, Chiron and Annabeth.

When the last page came I was left hanging between real life and the authors world and waiting in suspense for the next novel-- The Son of Neptune.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves reading anything mythology as well as fans of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
