Review: Narcissus in Chains (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #10) by Laurell K. Hamilton

4 Stars
Narcissus in Chains
Series: Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter
Author: Laurell K. Hamilton
Pages: 644
Read Count: 3
In this tenth Anita Blake novel we see Anita with her two men after six months of celibacy for the marriage of their 'marks'. Which will bind them closer than ever and maybe give them a little more than they expected.

There is also something happening in the shifter community and the only person who can help is Anita.

This has to be one of my favorite books in the Anita Blake series so far and the reason for that--well one of the reasons-- is because of Micah. I feel like there should be one of those little *sighs* after his name.

He is just what Anita needs especially after her oh, so complicated relationship with Richard and Jean-Claude. He is willing to work out what ever kind of relationship Anita needs, isn't that nice? Something that has to do with a man in Anita's life, being simple.

The plot in this book is awesome--it was very action packed--fighting, blood-- along with a lot of suspense and very sexy sex scenes.

I think this book is one where we are really getting a lot of hints of what maybe be to come that Anita is going to loosen up with her sex life a little with the introduction of the ardeur, especially now that she kind of has to. I for one  think that is a good thing.

Richard is of course in this one and I have to say though I love Richard, gah he is hot, he sometime get on my nerves and in this was one of those times. I just could not believe the way he left things with Anita.

One thing I did wonder in this book, through all the fighting bad guys--which was plentiful, sex scenes-which were good, is Anita is an animator--she raising the dead for a living, being a necromancer that give her an edge over others but when was the last time she raised some dead?? I mean I don't remember her doing it in the last book either.

Since this seemed to be a main focus in the first books and kind of still is now as they talk about how she is a necromancer and can raise "all types of undead" and I know she said at the beginning of the book that she is on 'vacation'. You think even with all the stuff going on we might get mention of Bert and the animating business.

I would recommend this book to anyone who have read and loved the Anita Blake series and is a fan of Laurell K. Hamilton.
