Review: Cerulean Sins (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #11) by Laurell K. Hamilton

4 Stars
Cerulean Sins
Series: Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter
Author: Laurell K. Hamilton
Mass Market Paperback
Pages: 547
In this eleventh Anita Blake novel Jean-Claude and Asher's sourdre de sang, Belle Morte, has sent her vessel (Musette & entourage)--months early--to visit.

When first beginning the Anita Blake series, Anita raised zombies for a living, that giving her a natural resistance to vampires also made her a Vampire Hunter. She was very set in her facts of monsters and humans--vampires are dead, soulless walking corpse--but now Anita isn't so sure as she is not entirely human herself. Also she is Master of the City, Jean-Claude's human servant and also his girlfriend but that's not all, for a time she was also the girlfriend of Richard the alpha of the werewolf pack.

She also Nimir-Ra, Leopard queen?, of the leopard pard after killing their old alpha, Gabrielle; more than that she also has a Nimir-Raj, Micah. And now after the last book she has also acquired a pomme de sang, Nathaniel. As she has gained some side-affects from the marriage of the marks between her, Richard and Jean-Claude.

In effect Anita is now very much apart of the 'monster' world and with her growing powers--and gaining men--I do not think she will be getting out anytime soon.

I really liked Cerulean Sins I think in it we get to see Anita really see herself in a good light for all the abilities she has gained as she will need almost all while Musette and crew are in town and to play politics with the vampires.

We also see some progression--I think--with Richard. We have been through so many ups and downs with him and in this novel I think we get some more hope for that outcome.

The plot was very good, extremely interesting as we are learning new exciting things that we may be in the plot of future books.

All together the only thing I didn't really like was how her and Dolph's relationship is turning out, which is a big reason I could not give this book five stars.

I would recommend this book to anyone who was a fan of the Anita Blake novels after the last book, Narcissus in Chains (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #10), or so.
