Review: Her Dark Destiny (Hunters of the Dark, #1) by Dave Ferraro

4 Stars
Her Dark Destiny
Series: Hunters of the Dark
Author: Dave Ferraro
Ebook
Pages: 305
In this first novel of Dave Ferraro's Hunters of the Dark series we meet Shanna Hunt. A teenager who has been hunting demons ever since that fateful night her parents were murdered by them.

Like most hunters she hunts alone until one night and a call get her taken to Lime Bay where a team is being compiled. A team of hunters that will fight together and hopefully learn what is happening to all the other hunters that seem to be just disappearing.

I really loved this book! From the very beginning we are drawn into the world of monsters and hunters.

This is a novel where you can really see the character development through the book, we see them changing into what we have at the end of the novel. I think that really invests one in the characters and in doing so invests them in the novel/series. It also made it very easy to know and become attached to the characters, making them have an impression that it might not have had otherwise.

There are many different points of view in this novel mostly from the team, though it doesn't interfere with the plot at all--just gives glimpses of things we might not have seen or known if we just has Shanna's point of view.

The plot was pretty fast paced and there is plenty of action in the novel, fight scenes that were very well-played out and not at all predictable or awkward. Though the fight scenes did not take over the plot as a whole it was more of just adding spice to an already delicious read.

I will definitely be looking forward the second book in this series, Night Cries.

I think I would recommend this novel to anyone looking for a good YA paranormal book.

*I received an Ebook copy of this book for free to review from the author.
