Hi Holly! I'm the author of GLORY. It was nominated by the American Library Association for their 2011 YA Best Paperbacks List. Midwest Book Review gave it 5-Stars and said, "A fantasy on the shoulders of a strong willed girl, Glory is not to be missed." It was on Amazon's Metaphysical Fiction Bestseller List. And here is a link to readers comments I received via email and posted on the website: http://www.devinwrites.com/glory/thereadersspeak.html
ReplyDeleteI hope you read it and I hope you love it!
Here is a link to blog that reviewed it in February: http://beautifullybroken-heather.blogspot.com/2011/02/revie-glory-by-devin-obranagan.html
ReplyDeleteI loved GLORY. Read it in a day; overnight, so I guess two days ;-) I was taken by the world and the characters Devin created, especially Rory. There are a lot of characters in this novel, somehow Devin found a way to make every one of them shine through their own light. Here is post:

This is a really good read and I bought copies for my three granddaughters for Christmas. My 18 year old granddaughter told me it is the best book she has read and when will there be a sequel. The only thing we would like is for it to be longer as it was a great story bringing in more than one supernatural being and taking them on a quest. Kind of a refreshing and different twist on the girl meets vampire and..... Good book!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED GLORY! All the emotion and action. I read it so fast! Can't wait for the sequel! MORE!!!
ReplyDeleteTotally brilliant read. Can't wait for the next one :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved Glory! It was a quick, fast-paced story that literally left me breathless (in a good way)! Before starting the book, I was very curious as to how Devin would be able to introduce and work a decent story with vampires, angels, witches and demons into 210 pages... she DID and did it wonderfully! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Glory. It was a very quick and easy read...one day. But the characters are endearing and leave you ready for more. Can't wait to read the sequel!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I will definitely be picking up Glory now; as soon as possible!! LOL
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for a movie to be made from this amazing book! Devin O'Branagan at her best with this novel. You won't be able to put it down. :)
ReplyDeleteOrdinarily, I'm not a huge follower of the genre, but Devin O'Branagan's work was highly recommended to me, so I bought GLORY just to see for myself. Right from the start it was a complete page turner with a great premise, intriguing characters, lots of action and suspense and a plot that never sank into predictability or cliche. I'm VERY glad I went out of my literary comfort zone and gave it a try! :)
ReplyDeleteI also LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Glory by Devin. The depth of the characters was amazing! The story swept me away to places I didn't expect and I truly enjoyed the journey. When I finished the book, I went searching for the next one because I felt soooo connected to the characters I wanted MORE! I felt exactly the same way about Witch Hunt by Devin. It was a GREAT story (I'm not sure which I loved more!). I'm hoping she comes out with sequels to both VERY soon!
ReplyDeleteDevin's GLORY was by far my favorite book she's written...(so far!) I didn't want to stop reading! The "vampire-meets-angel-meets-witch" topic was genius! And so current with what's hot right now...can you say, "pandemic," anyone??? Also, the multitude of dynamic characters she created gave readers plenty of juicy, see-saw emotion, as well as humor. I was amazed at how she could make us love some of her characters, and absolutely love to hate others! Gimme more, Devin, I'm addicted!! :D
ReplyDeleteOrdinarily, I am not a fan of the Vampire/Paranormal genre, but this book is so much more than that. For one thing it's got a kick-ass girl heroine—she doesn't want this job—but she rises to the challenge. Glory is a young girl who goes through hell in the course of the story, and comes out on the other side stronger, wiser, and with a crew of amazing friends!
ReplyDeleteI think the post apocalyptic world that Devin O'Branagan has created is unique, and has potential to get even more exciting in the sequels. I recommend this book as a fast-paced, and fun read.
Not sure how I came across this book, but what a find it was!! I absolutely love this author and this story. I couldn't have said it any better than you did here. I have impatiently been waiting for the sequel. Hurry up Devin!!!
ReplyDeleteGlory is a must read. Here is a link with a Meet and greet with the author and my review of Glory.

I'm a huge fan of the Vampire/Paranormal genre, and this book was a great read! My only complaint is that it was too short. Looking forward to the sequel!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading Glory because it is one of those books that grabs you from the first sentence and keeps you enthralled until the last word. The quest that Glory embarks on enlightens her to her true self and takes the reader with her as she comes into her own. I enjoyed that it is an adventure with spine tingling scenes but it has romance and friendship. The reader is taken on a roller coaster ride until the end when good triumphs over evil. The fact that the characters are not only human and vampires but an assortment of other beings makes it far more interesting. I cannot wait for the next in the series to see where fate takes everyone especially Glory.
ReplyDeleteGlory was a great read from start to finish! You're transported into the story from the very beginning and feel as though you're right there experiencing everything along with all of the characters. As the story progresses, your interest is piqued about the other characters that are introduced and you're left wanting more. Devin's "Glory" gives us a unique storyline full of animated characters (including man's best friend!) and keeps your eyes glued to the book the whole time! Hope you enjoy as much as I did!
