Review: Ghost Story (The Dresden Files #13) by Jim Butcher

4 Stars
Author: Jim Butcher
Pages: 481
Book Description from Goodreads
"When last seen, wizard detective Harry Dresden was in a most unenviable position: he was dead. This predicament, not to mention the loss of his magic, doesn't however deter our hero from overcoming his enemies in the Windy City. Fantasy noir suspense of the highest order. Bound to be a bestseller."

*Spoilers Below!*

In this thirteenth novel in Jim Butchers The Dresden Files series we pick up pretty much from where we left off in the last book, with Harry Dresden having been shot on his half-brothers boat, the Water Beetle, where he was waiting for Murphy to show up for what was finally going to be progress in their relationship-anyways that was what I hoped before you know, he got shot.

So Harry is dead in this one but his 'ghost' is sent back to, I guess to solve his murder.

There is a lot of plot in this book beside the above and we get a good look at Chicago with Harry being there anymore and how the people around him have changed; such as Murphy, his apprentice Molly, the Alpha's, and now 'Baron' Johnny Marcone. We also learn the where about of Mister, Mouse and Bob and his daughter--you know you were curious as to what would happen to them!

Overall I loved this novel but . . . at the same time I have to admit that through the book there were parts that I ... didn’t like as much. I know! I feel as if I just said something awful! But it is true Harry just didn’t seem like Harry to me I guess and I really missed how he was in previous book. This novel also lacked a lot of the action that the previous books had.

Again altogether I loved the book even though I didn’t like certain parts of it, I can not help but love the overall out come and I have high hopes that the next book will be even better with Harry being back to his old self--I hope.

I would recommend this novel to anyone who has read and liked the previous books and this series to anyone who is looking for a good paranormal/urban fantasy series.
