Review: Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse #2) by Charlaine Harris

Series: Sookie Stackhouse, #2
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Vampires, Urban Fantasy, Mystery,
Mass Market Paperback
Pages: 279
Read Count: 2
In Living Dead in Dallas Sookie Stackhouse cocktail waitress at Merlotte's in Bon Temps, a telepath that is really just getting started exploring her talent is 'loaned' out by resident vampire in charge to the one in Dallas, she can't really say no--plus they just saved her life--even if it was kind of their fault she got hurt in the first place. . .
So off to Dallas she goes to help find the missing vampire with her talent. Of course the trip turns out to be much more than she or her vampire lover Bill perceived.

I really liked this second installment to the series and I have to say that a big reason for that--not the only reason mind you--is because of Eric.

Don't get me wrong I like bill but Eric is just very sexy and makes me laugh, Bill on the other hand though sexy in the novel in his own way I do not think I have ever laughed at anything he 'said'. He is very serious all the time, maybe broody would be a good word for him. I usually love the broody character more so this was a slight surprising revelation for me and something I love about this author--that she can make me love the non-broody character the most in a series.

Altogether the novel was very good set a great pace, plot, and love scenes--though I would have loved if they were longer and more detailed--and left me wanting the next book.

I would recommend this novel to anyone looking for a good paranormal vampire read.
