Story So Far: Bone Wires by Michael Shean, Part Nineteen

In the wasteland of commercial culture that is future America, police are operated not by government but by private companies. In Seattle, that role is filled by Civil Protection, and Daniel Gray is a detective in Homicide Solutions. What used to be considered an important – even glamorous – department for public police is very different for the corporate species, and Gray finds himself stuck in a dead end job.

That is, until the Spine Thief arrives.
Bone Wires by Michael Shean is a free serialized Dark Sci-Fi novel that is being published every Thursday on Curiosity Quills, which will be reviewed on Full Moon Bites as the  ‘Story So Far’ with a full review once the whole novel is done.

This story just keeps getting more intriguing! In this nineteenth installment Gray meets with Megan Cinders, the coroner who worked on the three Spine Thief murders.

What she tells him leave Gray putting trying to piece together things that may be connected but leave him all around in a state of reflection. He had the case he had wanted so badly, the case that would make him so to speak and now, after it was over he is going back and digging through it.

I have to say I admire Gray for going back to the case, no one else has (with the exception of Marowitz and Megan) they all just left it alone, he isn’t accepting that is done and over with even though it might be in his best interest to leave it alone, especially for his career which at the start of the installments was mostly all he cared about.

We didn’t really learn anything new on the Angie and Moody front but altogether it was a good installment and I am highly anticipating the next.
