Review: Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson #5) by Patricia Briggs

4 Stars
Silver Borne
Series: Mercy Thompson, #5
Author: Patricia Briggs
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance,
Publisher: Ace Hardcover
Hardcover
Pages: 342
Purchase: Thriftbooks |
In Silver Borne author Patricia Briggs fifth Mercedes Thompson novel, mechanic and coyote shifter Mercy is once again neck deep in paranormal trouble—of the Fae variety this time.

In a previous book Mercy borrowed a book written by a Fae about Fae things of power, original ‘fairy tales’ etc. When Tad, a son of her Fae friend that Zee that used to own the garage she now owns calls her about the item she decides to take it back to the owner.

Soon she finds thought that he has disappeared and people are looking for the book, a powerful Fae—and they know Mercy has it.

Thus the trouble for Mercy begins.

Okay this will be a highlight review—short and sweet.

Adam & Mercy; we get some more insight here kind of the depth I was looking for that we did not get in previous book. Unfortunately it is at the very end of the book and not at all long.

We also get a pretty good sex scene, I think this is only the second out of the whole series so far between the two though and it did not have much detail to it but it did have more intensity.

Bran; we get more plot with him in this novel; I have to say I could not love him more, he always seems so mysterious but at the same time very dangerous. It would be awesome if we could get a series with him as the main character.

Samuel; well that downward spiral that Sam has been going though catches up to him in this novel and he hits rock bottom so-to-speak, which was quite sad, I love Sam as a character and would have been perfectly happy with him and Mercy being together. They did not of course but, maybe he will get his happy ever after?

Plot; awesome, set at a good pace; couldn’t have asked for more. Well except more sex scenes and detailed ones at that.

Also, has anyone else noticed that it is just the Fae and Vamps that Mercy gets in trouble with? I mean sure not all the werewolves like her but none of them really go after her with the intent to kill her—just the Fae and vampires—so far.

Altogether a great addition to the series and I would recommend it to anyone.
