Guest Post: Virtual Blog Tour by Michelle Scott

Please help me welcome author Michelle Scott to FMB! :)

When I was about twelve, I used to have a pen pal from Sweden.  We each wrote one letter a month, and sent it via air mail using stationary that was as thin as tissue paper.  Even though my pen pal never wrote about anything particularly interesting, her life seemed exotic.  In fact, just having a pen pal seemed exotic!

Nowadays, of course, communicating with someone across the world is no big deal.  I do it all of the time.  This is definitely one of the perks of social media and blogging: connecting with people from places I’ve never gotten to visit.  It’s like we’re all at the same party.

Because I am chatting with people from different countries, I’m learning a lot about music, movies and books that I’d never heard of before.  That’s how I got hooked on authors like Jasper Fforde and Gail Carriger and TV shows like Bedlam.
Recently, I posted a blog entry called, “My Dishwasher Smells like New Zealand” because, according to the label on the bottle, the soap smelled just like New Zealand spring water (and they would know this…how?).  A week later, I had someone from New Zealand leave a comment.  I loved it!

Virtual blog tours are a lot like traveling around the world.  Okay, maybe not quite, but globetrotting from blog to blog makes me feel like an adventurer.  I love visiting all of the blogs and being introduced to new things.  I love reading comments and chatting with people.  Every blog is different, and every blogger has her/his own style and tastes.  Some people nowadays will complain about how things like social media and blogging have made us lonelier, but I completely disagree.  I think these things bring us closer together.

Straight to Heaven (Lilith Straight #2) by Michelle Scott

"Hell’s newest employee, Lilith Straight, thinks she’s got a handle on her job as the Devil’s temptress until she finds herself going horns-to-halo with a guardian angel who’s determined to rescue Lilith’s next victim. To make matters worse, William Darcy, the hottest demon in hell, is trying to undermine Lilith’s mission with a few temptations of his own."
