Review: Lawman by Diana Palmer
7:00 AM | Edit Post
In author Diana Palmer’s novel Lawman we meet FBI agent Garon Grier who has just bought a ranch and moved to Jacobsville, Texas from San Antonio.4 StarsAuthor: Diana PalmerGenre: Contemporary Romance, Western Romance,Publisher: Harlequin BooksHardcoverPages: 283Purchase: Amazon | B&N | Thriftbooks |
He is hoping to get more in touch with his brother whom he has not seen a lot of—Cash Grier—what he was not looking for is his new found attraction to his next-door-neighbor. A 25 year old, shy but lovely woman who has a nightmare of a past, Grace Carver lives with her grandma a cruel woman but the only family she has beside a paraplegic elderly cousin.
When Grace's grandma dies she is left all alone with the grief but unexpectedly her neighbor comes around to help her out in her time of need. Though he is gruff, stubborn and rude, she, even with her horrid past, can not help but start to feel things for him—things she has never felt for any man before.
But when Grace learns that Garon is working on a case looking for a serial killer and child predator one where no victim has been left alive, and learns a detail that has long been held from the public, she feels it is only the right thing to do to let him know about her past, even if it puts her life in danger. . .
Another great novel by this author—I admit that I am finding myself more and more interested in the genre or maybe just Diana Palmer’s novels. Lol
The novel like the last is engrossing, with mystery, romance, suspense and more. I could not help but find myself drawn in.
Another reason I liked it had to be because we met Garon himself who is Cash’s brother from the last book I read Lawless. I have still not read Cash’s book so it was a surprise—but a good one—to learn that he had a brother and who he was now in contact with. Also to learn some details about him and Tippy’s relationship.
The only thing I have to say I did not like is how Garon acted towards Grace after he decides he does not want to see her anymore. This really bothered me, I understand, he was scared after what happened in his past but it was no way to treat Grace.
As with Lawless, I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good contemporary romance and western novel.
