In author Boo Walker’s novel, Lowcountry Punch we meet DEA Agent T.A. Reddick.

I absolutely loved this book! It is fast paced, action packed, and full of suspense—it literally had be tensing up at moments complete with full facial expressions of shock, winces in drawn breaths and, oh yes, talking out load. Really. To see me read an amazing book is, according to my family, freaking hilarious—and I loved this one!

T.A. is, well, the only character I can think to even compare him to is another all time favorite action suspense character—Dirk Pitt, in the novels by Clive Cussler.

T.A. reminds me of Dirk in a lot of ways—he is strong, brave, the woman love him, and is ready to fight for what he believes in. They also have another common goal—to do good and wonderful things—T.A. is fighting drugs, mostly cocaine. And he is good at his job too.

Where they differ though is that T.A. has a temper and doesn’t let anyone push him around—he also has a terrible smart-ass streak as well both of which get him into trouble more often that not.

When a terrible incident in Miami where he worked and lived makes him move back home to Charleston to mend his broken heart and hopefully his reputation as well. He is still on with the DEA but, he isn’t so popular anymore—but his boss Steve takes a chance on him and T.A. is more than willing to prove that the man did the right thing.

This is where he meets Liz and falls in love.

But when T.A. goes undercover in what looks to become a huge drug bust he finds out that there is a lot more to Liz’s past than he knows. Not only that but someone is trying to kill him and it doesn’t seem to be any of the main players he has made mad lately.

T.A. being an undercover agent has put a lot of people behind bars I am sure and even in the end of this book we never know who else was trying to kill him. I have to wonder if this is an opening for a second book and I hope it is—I would love to read more about T.A. Reddick!

Overall—this is one book that I would recommend to anyone! Boo Walker’s Lowcountry Punch has to be one of the best book’s I have read and I am looking forward to his next book, Turn or Burn!

*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.
