In author Diana Palmer’s third Long, Tall Texans novel, Tyler we get Nell Regan and Tyler Jacobs story.

Tyler has recently lost everything, his wealth, farm and more because of his father’s debts. Now working a new job the boss sends him to be the new foreman of the Double R dude ranch in Arizona. He has just gotten back after taking a day off to go back to Jacobsville and attends his sister Shelly’s wedding to Justin Ballenger.

Tyler has had a hard time of it lately and he was warmed boy the boss lady Nell’s attention and sweat gestures. The only thing was that he thought she was just a child really and when he finds out that she is actually a twenty-four year old woman he is shocked and not at all ready for a relationship.

Nell was very drawn to Tyler from the start but did not realize that she had made her attraction to him so obvious by following him around and doing nice things for him.

When Nell was younger she went though a traumatic experience that left her afraid of men, but even though she does not trust Tyler completely she can not help but feel more for him than she has any man.

The only problem with this is of course Nell’s own insecurities (which seem to be many) and beautiful sister-in-law who has been coming to stay the weekends, more and more.

I liked this book overall but I have to say that overall I thought Nell was a little too insecure if that makes sense. I understand she went though something bad, and she is insecure though the whole book—but then at the end she just suddenly ‘gets’ it and the wedding bells are ringing in the future.

This just did not seem believable to me, even if she did come to the conclusion and understand that Tyler did like her and not her sister or he wouldn’t have been trying to have a relationship with her—I still think it would have taken her more time to actually ‘get’ it and then go talk to Tyler. It just happened to fast to me.

But I did like it and I was happy that after two books we finally got Tyler’s story. We actually met him in book one of this series so, it was kind—if not long, a impatient wait because we also get him a little in the second book to.

I would recommend this novel to anyone looking for a good contemporary western romance.
