Interview with Cinsearae S.

Note from Author: Dark Gothic Resurrected Magazine is open to submissions year round, and I also welcome first-timers, as I know how hard it is for newbies to get their stories published! See my website for details.

Holly: Hi Cinsearae! Would you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Cinsearae S: I'm a (dark) paranormal romance and horror author, cover designer for DamnationBooks.com (and independent authors as well) and Editor/Publisher of Dark Gothic Resurrected Magazine. I love doing anything creative. I think I'd go nuts if I was unable to do what I love.

Holly: Can you tell us a little bit about your book Diary of a Vampire Stripper?

Cinsearae S: Diary of a Vampire Stripper tells the wild ride of young Audra Perez, who auditions for a job as a stripper (as a last resort) to keep up with her bills and schooling. After she starts dating an older gentleman who frequents the club, she is turned into a vampire by him and then disappears for a while. Now she's left holding the bag, as she has to deal with this new predicament, plus keep going on with her usual routine. Her vamp lifestyle begins to prove to be dangerous for her as she befriends a werewolf, and encounters a group of radical humans out to destroy 'their kind'.

Holly: Which came first for you, the characters or the plot?

Cinsearae S: It all happens at once, lol. It's like having a movie play in my head.

Holly: Where can we purchase Diary of a Vampire Stripper?

Cinsearae S: Diary of a Vampire Stripper will officially be out June 1st on Amazon.com in print and for Kindle. It can also be found at https://www.createspace.com/3778782

Holly: Can we expect more novels from you in 2012?

Cinsearae S: Hopefully so, as I'm working on the second part to DoaVS as we speak. *grin*

Holly: Who or what influenced your writing once you began?

Cinsearae S: I think I was naturally drawn to otherworldly things. I read King back in Junior high and got lots of funny looks for that. I'd devour books by Christopher Pike, L.J. Smith, and R.L. Stine. They were my escape from my boring life and annoying peers. Anything weird, odd, or unusual only fueled my fire. I was always the oddball out, but looking back on it all, I still wouldn’t change anything. It's better to be an individual than a sheep.

Holly: Can you tell us a little about what attracted you to this genre?

Cinsearae S: I think it started when I was young, and I was smitten with Frank Langella's performance in "Dracula" (1979). Then I moved on to "Dark Shadows"-- I remember running home from school so I could watch it. I'm pretty much fascinated with anything that's not contemporary. I see contemporary stuff everyday, and it's too boring to me, lol.

Holly: Do you have anything you would like to say to your readers?

Cinsearae S: It's a mad, mad world out there. Live life to the fullest, love hard, and cherish every moment with friends and family.

Holly: Can you tell us a few do’s and don’ts for aspiring authors?

Cinsearae S: Have a few select few with whom you can confide and trust in when it comes to reading your work. Writers groups are fine, but scrutinize them carefully, and avoid negative people and naysayers like the plague. Dream-bashers are the ones who have given up on theirs; don't let them do the same to you.

Random Quickies!

Holly: Vampires or Werewolves?

Cinsearae S: vamps, definitely. I'm sure shaving's a pain when you're a werewolf.

Holly: Favorite author?

Cinsearae S: Poe. Then King. :)

Holly: Horror or Romance?

Cinsearae S: I like a good mix of both *grin*

Holly: Favorite movie?

Cinsearae S: Another toughie. Too many to mention, but I'll start off with "Dracula" (1979 starring Frank Langella, then my next fave is the same title starring Gary Oldman. And can't forget Interview With the Vampire!

  3. I love the title and sound of this book. I can never get enough of vampire stories, and this one sounds like it would have some humor added. Oh, I would want to be a vampire too. I am already a night person, and I can't even imagine all the shedding and shaving if I were a werewolf, lol.
