Review: Hollywood Ever After (Red Carpet Series #1) by Sasha Summers

5 Stars
Hollywood Ever After
Series: Red Carpet Series #1
Author: Sasha Summers
Genre: Contemporary Romance,
Publisher: InkSpell Publishing
Pages: 306
In Hollywood Ever After by Sasha Summers we meet Claire, her family, and Josh Wiley.

Josh Wiley is a movie star—an up-and coming one and young and hot to-boot. Which is why ordinary divorcee Claire never thought he would give her a second glance, but he does, more than one in fact.

Claire is a mother of two, with an abusive ex-husband and mother who loves her. She has been though a lot in her life, but ever since her vacation to L.A. she is starting to find herself again and that is due in part to Josh, but just because she is ready to move on, doesn’t mean her ex-husband is ready—or going to let her.

I really loved this book—which is saying a good bit for me—when was the last time I read a contemporary romance novel? I am sure I have, but for the life of me I can not recall how long ago it was, an my main genre is not usually contemporary, but I was immediately drawn to Hollywood Ever After, first by the cover—which is absolutely lovely—and then by the description. I was hooked and knew I had to read.

Josh is hot, younger than Claire and he knows exactly what he wants—something real and knows that he has found it in Claire who sees the real him.

That has to be one of the main things I liked about Josh—he knew almost from the very start that Claire was the real-deal and he does not give up on her no matter what—he is committed for the long-haul.

Claire on the other hand is not so sure and is convinced Josh and she won’t last, especially not forever—she has two kids, and he is younger than her. Not to mention a whole slew of other ‘problems’ like being very self-critical.

But after a while Claire starts to get her feet again so-to-speak and realize a few things. She was an absolutely wonderful character—strong, so much more than she realizes, capable, reliable and a wonderful mother to her two children.

This book left me wish a since of awe almost and I had tears in my eyes more than once as I read about Claire finding herself again and Josh come into her and the kids life. (He was absolutely wonderful with them in case you were wondering!)

Hollywood Ever After is a wonderful novel about a woman, her family, friend and her abusive ex-husband and how she finds a new start in life, happiness, love and her happily ever after.

This is my first novel by this author, but it will not be my last besides another series—one about mythical gods—another book in this series is set for November this year and I am definitely going to read it!

I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes contemporary romance novels and is looking for an engrossing read—but also I urge other readers as well to pick it up, even if contemporary romance is not the main genre you read.

*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.
