Review: Love Bites (Argeneau #2) by Lynsay Sands

5 Stars
Love Bites
Series: Argeneau, #2
Author: Lynsay Sands
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Adult, Urban Fantasy,
Publisher: Love Spell
Mass Market Paperback
Pages: 373
In author Lynsay Sands second Argeneau novel, Love Bites, we have Etienne Argeneau and Rachel Garrett’s book.

Rachel is a human who works the night-shift at the morgue and is dying got get on the day shift. Back at work for the first time after a horrid bout of flu that kept her away for a week she is in no way ready for a crazy maniac waving an ax and going on about vampires.

Etienne is a vampire geek; he is the popular designer of a vampire video game. At the moment he is having trouble with a man who found out that he is a vampire. When Rachel saves his life, at the cost of her own, he can do no less than change her—even if he can only ever change on human, his life mate.

He will just have to try and work things out with Rachel, or else he is going to be spending eternity alone.

It is a good thing that they both felt a strong attraction for each other or else this book could have gone entirely in the other direction. Lol

I have to say that I do not remember Etienne from the first book. I mean I know he was mentioned but I do not think he was actually ever presenting the book, though I could be mistaken?

Either way—vampire geek or not, I have to say that I liked this second book even more than the first. Etienne, is just, well he was so much MORE than Greg was to me.

Rachel is very resistant to being a vampire. She already hated the night-shift when she was human and she has some pretty cliché and horrid ideals about vampires, mostly revolving around Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Like I said—without the attraction between both Rachel and Etienne this book could have gone in a very different direction. But that was not the case, the attraction between them is very strong and there even before Rachel is turned.

There were also more sex scenes in this book than the last (another plus for this book), they were more detailed too. But as with the last book this one is very humorous and I love that the author can walk that line between funny, sexy and still have the angst/suspense between the two characters and ‘bad guy’.

In the end we get an epilogue with Bastien (the second oldest brother) that tell us whose book will be next—Bastien’s!

Then maybe it will be Lucern’s book?

I would recommend this novel to anyone who is looking for a wonderful paranormal romance novel.
