From 'Accepted' to 'Rejected'

Well you guys, it is not to be. :(

This is a follow up to my first post Fantasies Got Accepted?! Which was also on my writer blog at Holly Adair.

I guess it WAS a computer/software glitch because today I got the rejection email and now on the Silver Publishing (SP) Manager it says rejected. Sigh. I can not say that I am not a little upset even though I tried not to get excited (just because of this reason)  I still feel a little put-out (and sad) that it said “Contract to be Signed”

and now “Manuscript Rejected”.

I understand that the SP Manager is still a pretty new submissions system, again which is why I wondered about the computer glitch in the first place—but, well, I am sure you get what I mean.

I got my hopes up in spite of my doubt only to have them dashed. All because of a computer/software glitch. lol

You should have seen me dancing around that email though, when I first saw it—I went through practically all my other emails before I ever clicked it.

They sent me the notes from the acquisitions editor who did my story so I will go over it and see what they said, maybe after a lot of work I can re-submit it, though I do not know if it will be at SP again. I will probably be a little iffy about submitting things there for a little while. Lol

Edit: I just read the checklists that were sent, and wow do I have to say that, well, disheartening but there was good stuff as well, so at least I know what I need to work on and what I am good at.

  1. That's sucky. But you can't tell me the happy dance wasn't worth it. I bet even with the glitch, you still smile about it.

If someone was in the house, I can even picture you doing the happy dance in their faces. It probably got to the point they were like, "Alright already!" And you just went off laughing.

You know what that means though? You're going to have to go even bigger with the next acceptance letter.
