Interview & Giveaway with Victoria Blisse, author of Switching the Control!

Please help me welcome author Victoria Blisse to Full Moon Bites to talk about her book Switching the Control! Also--don't miss the giveaway below!

Holly: Hi Victoria! Would you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Victoria Blisse: Hello! I’m a full time mum and wife and part time author of saucy stories. I love to read and when it’s not something steamy I’ll have a good fantasy book in my hand. Terry Pratchett and David Gemell are two of my favourite authors.
I also love to cook and especially to bake. My sponge buns are legendary I’ll have you know! To work off a few of those extra calories I go to Zumba class each week and dance. Well, flail about somewhat rhythmically, it’s almost the same thing.
I love Manchester United, owls and buttons, not necessarily in that order and when I have time I love to sew.

Holly: Do you have anything you would like to say to your readers?

Victoria Blisse: I am not necessarily a deeply philosophical person but I would encourage readers to thoroughly enjoy being themselves, to revel in their uniqueness and not to hide it. It’s a gift to be different, to be you, so enjoy it!

Holly: Can you tell us a little bit about your book Switching the Control?

Victoria Blisse: I certainly can. It’s the story of Melissa, a driven business woman who is looking to become the top dog in her field. Just there’s one problem and he’s called Richard. He’s got some dirt on Melissa and unless she becomes his sex slave for a week he’s going to dump her in the hot water.

The weird thing is that Melissa finds herself enjoying submitting to Richard and she finds she’s losing control. The twist comes when she’s inspired to take that power back and give Richard a taste of his own medicine.

Holly: Which came first for you, the characters or the plot?

Victoria Blisse: I always get a mix of the two but for me establishing the characters is most important. So where I may have the bare bones of a story before I begin my story I will have a pretty fully formed idea of my characters personalities before I write. How they look tends to be secondary and reveals itself as I go along!

Holly: You’re out demon hunting (because you’re that kind of awesome) and you come across one about to kill a young couple. He has not seen you yet; what is your first course of action?

Victoria Blisse: I’d like to think I wouldn’t scream like a baby but there is a good possibility that in fact I would. I am quite obviously a tasty morsel *ahem* and so the demon would chase me instead and leave the courting couple alone. I like to believe that anyone can change their ways so I would have a heart to heart with said demon, he’d change his evil ways and instead would discover a special way with pastry and become a world renowned chef.

Hey, Disney had a rat do it, so why can’t I have a demon do it?

Holly: Where can we purchase Switching the Control?

Victoria Blisse: Currently it’s on Pre-order from Total-E-Bound it will be available from all good ebook retailers from the 1st October.

Holly: Can we expect more from you in 2012?

Victoria Blisse: Oh yes indeed! I have Bollywood Nightmare, the second book in my Djinn’s Amulet series coming out in December. I am working on a whole host of other stories too, some may be available by the end of this year, others will be out in 2013. So keep looking out for a bit of Blisse! All you need is at

Holly: Are you reading anything interesting at the moment? If so, what is it?

Victoria Blisse: I’ve just finished Sophie Morgan’s The Diary of a Submissive. It was really very good, I wrote a review in fact!

Holly: Your life is a romantic comedy; what humorous but very embarrassing thing happens on your first date/when you meet the love of your life?

Victoria Blisse: Well, this is actually very true. I shall tell you exactly what happened the first time I met my husband in the flesh (we met online 14 years ago) and I swear it’s the truth.

Firstly I wouldn’t hold hands with him as we walked past my Nanna’s house. In case she was looking out of the window. The first thing my mum did when she met Kev was to flash her legs at him, she’d just gotten a fake tan done.

So I whisked the poor boy out to the local park where he then got (somehow) grass stains on his white jeans. Ahem.

My sister came home from school and jumped all over him, then my Dad told him all kinds of horridly bad jokes over the dinner table.

After all that, when my mum took us to drop him off at the train station she put her hands on his knee, squeezed and said. “You’ll have to come back again soon.”

And miraculously he DID come back. True love, eh?

Holly: Do you think you may ever go into another genre?

Victoria Blisse: I might, it will depend where the muses lead me! I do have a children’s story, floating around in my mind and I always toy with the idea of doing a romance without the sex, it just never seems to happen.  There is also an idea for an autobiographical something called ‘The Confessions of a Smut Writing Christian’ in there too.

Holly: Can you tell us some of your latest news, what are your plans for 2012/2013?

Victoria Blisse: I am a very busy bunny. On top of wearing my author hat I am currently sporting my editor hat, too. Smut by the Sea edited by myself and Lucy Felthouse just recently released and we’re currently working on getting Smut in the City wrapped up and ready for public
consumption, too!

I’m going to The Book Show Live on the 22nd September this year in Luton. It’s run by Andrews UK and is a one stop shop for all things publishing. It’s going to be brilliant fun, check out my post for more details and a massive 33% discount code!

There is going to be a fantastic event in Scarborough on the 22nd June 2013 called Smut by the Sea, I am organizing this with Kevin Mitnik, my long suffering husband and the lovely Lucy (as mentioned above) there’s going to be an erotic market, readings and entertainment and it’s going to be awesome. Check here for more details here if you want to get involved as a sponsor!

Random Quickies!

Holly: Vampires or Werewolves?

Victoria Blisse: Vampires, though I have written both. I prefer the measured evil of the vampire, though my vamps aren’t so very evil. In the Point Vamp books they make you orgasm first then suck your blood. Not bad, eh?

Holly: Pepsi or Coke?

Victoria Blisse: Pepsi Max. Never full sugar Pepsi, always Max.

Holly: Favorite movie?

Victoria Blisse: Flash Gordon. Watched it over and over when I was a kid, still have to watch it when I see it on telly and still know most of the words!

Holly: Fast-food or home cooked meal?

Victoria Blisse: Home cooked every time.

Holly: Reading or writing?

Victoria Blisse: So tough but it has to be writing. I would go mad and my brain would pop if I didn’t write. Reading is a great solace though, I read when I need to escape from the world.

Take away the control and what do you have left? Desire.

Melissa is smart, confident and head strong. She has her dream career and is a step away from becoming a partner at Grimly and Vimes.  Richard ruins her perfect plan when he uncovers a serious indiscretion in her past and forces her to be his office sex slave for a week in return for his silence.

But Melissa finds out that she enjoys being told what to do. She craves punishment and adores to be put in her place and Richard does it so perfectly. It was not in her plan to fall in love but how will she cope when it happens anyway?

Switching the Control is published by Total-E-Bound and is available from all good eBook retailers.

Victoria Blisse is a mother, wife, Christian, Manchester United fan and award winning erotica author. She is also the editor of several Bigger Briefs collections, Smut by the Sea and Smut in the City.
She is equally at home behind a laptop or a cooker and she loves to create stories, poems, cakes and biscuits that make people happy. She was born near Manchester, England and her northern English quirkiness shows through in all of her stories. Passion, love and laughter fill her works, just as they fill her busy life.
