Balancing It All

I know I do not post often on here and honestly I am trying to do so more and it has got me thinking a lot about balance—so that is what I want to post about today. I know! Imagine, it even matches up with the title of the post, huh? ;) LOL

I am a stay at home…er, homemaker? Can I be a homemaker if I am not married and do not have any children? I do not know, but it is the only word I can think of right now so it will stay unless I come up with something better.

I help take care of my elderly grandmother and have for the last few years now. This was when my reading actually began—before about 5 years ago? I absolutely hated reading. Then there was Twilight. I know, oh so cliché. How many people have said they started reading because of this book, or picked reading back up because of it? I am just one of hundreds. :)

I have gotten a little off track though. My point is that I started reading, having absolutely no social life (really I just stay home all the time with family) I began reviewing books and after that I started a blog and everything kind of evolved from there.

I went from being a homemaker to have two book blogs, a bazillion books and more that I need to review and a desire to write my own plus a book blog tour site.

It was quite a change, believe me! But it was a good one and pretty easy, too. Now instead of noting dates of blog feature on a piece of paper I have a full calendar where I keep all of my upcoming scheduled blog features with reminders on each. Suffice to say things are not easy now. I slip up and forget things even with the calendar and I sometimes am three days late before I get an email replied to.

Here lately I feel like everything is just too much.

I do not have time to write my books, I am an aspiring author as most of you know but with my emails (more than 100 a day), my blogs, review books and the book tours plus home life (yes, even though I don’t go anywhere) it is getting tough to keep up.

So what do I need? To find some kind of balance between the things, I want time to write but I do not want to loose my blog or the tour site—truly I love them both. And I will never stop reading that is nonnegotiable.

However, I do need to sleep.

So I am trying to evolve a schedule, one that will allow me to do all of the things I need to do and for the time being I will not be accepting anymore books to review unless I have reviewed for the author before—then I may consider it.

My question to you is how do you balance it all? I know most people have more to do than me. Bloggers, how do you do it? Do you have a schedule you stick to? Any authors have any advice on how to balance everything with writing time?
