Interview with Cassandra Carr, an author of Close Contact!

Today author Cassandra Carr is here with us for an interview for an anthology she is in with authors Cristal Ryder and Cynthia Carr. Read on below for more info about Close Contact, her upcoming works and more! :)

Holly: Hi Cassandra! Would you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Cassandra Carr: Sure! I’m an award-winning, multi-published erotic romance writer with Ellora’s Cave, Loose Id, Siren, and Sybarite Seductions. I was first published in March of 2011 and I’m about to release my…*thinks* thirteenth work, with a LOT more coming.

I’m also a wife, a mother, and an angry NHL fan (they’re in the middle of a labor dispute and not playing hockey).

Holly: Can you tell us a little bit about your book Close Contact?

Cassandra Carr: I would be happy to. :) Close Contact is an anthology with stories from me, Cristal Ryder, and Cindy Carr. The theme of the anthology is sports coaches. My story’s hero is a tennis player, Cristal’s is a golf pro, and Cindy’s is a fencing instructor. Even though none of those sports are so-called contact sports, they are in our stories!

Holly: What was the inspiration for this novel?

Cassandra Carr: It was all Cristal’s idea. She came to me and said she’d love to do an anthology about less traditional sports – many sports romances feature baseball, football, hockey and the like, and the relationships the coaches have with people they’re instructing. The idea sounded like fun, so
we pulled Cindy in and away we went!

Holly: You’re out demon hunting (because you’re that kind of awesome) and you come across one about to kill a young couple. He has not seen you yet; what is your first course of action?

Cassandra Carr: Throw the iron rod I have on my person at them, hitting them square through the heart and impaling them on the wall behind them. Then I’d throw salt on them and burn them for good measure. And then collect my reward in the form of sexual favors from the undoubtedly hot male of the young couple.

Holly: Where can we purchase Close Contact?

Holly: Can we expect more novels from you in 2012?

Cassandra Carr: *deep breath*
On December 7th I’m releasing an EC for Men Quickie, Birthday Boy. On December 11th Master Class, a BDSM novel, will come out. On December 28th, Momentum, book 3 in the Buckin’ Bull Riders series.

Yes, I have three releases in December. And more than one in January. And more after that. I’m told I’m a lunatic.

Holly: Are you working on anything at the moment?

Cassandra Carr: I’m writing the fourth book in the Buckin’ Bull Riders series, Velocity. I’m also in edits for two or three works which will come out in early 2013.

Holly: What is the hardest part of writing in your opinion?

Cassandra Carr: For me, it’s finding the time. The ideas, no biggie. The time, huge biggie. That might get a little better when my daughter goes to school full-time next year. Here’s hoping…

Holly: Where do you see yourself at in five years—writing wise?

Cassandra Carr: I’d like to think I’ll be pretty well-known for quality erotic romance by that time. I probably won’t be quite as prolific as I am right now. This pace is going to be impossible to sustain for the long-term. Sorry if that’s disappointing, but wow, do I work a lot. See how much I love you guys?

Holly: What is your take on editing your work (pre-edits I suppose before it gets passed to an editor)—do you hate it? Is it a strong point for you?

Cassandra Carr: I’m a clean writer, according to the editors at my publishing houses. What that means is that some of the grammar and structure problems other writers might face are not seen often in my work. I don’t mind revising my books before I turn them in, and I’m pretty open to the opinions of my critique partners. Having said that, I don’t turn in a tenth draft or a thirteenth draft like some other authors do. I write the first draft from beginning to end, go back and expand/revise it, send to my critique partners, revise it again, do a final read-through, and send it. So the publisher gets about my third or fourth draft.

Holly: Do you have anything you would like to say to your readers?

Cassandra Carr: Yes! I appreciate you all so much! I absolutely love what I do for a living, and never in a million years did I think I would ever say that. You all make every hour I spend staring at a computer screen and trying to shut up the voices in my head well worth it!

Hard-hitting contact sports don't have the only sexy professional athletes. Does the strength and grace of golf, tennis and fencing instructors extend to lustier activities? Find out as they turn these classic sports into full-contact steamy sessions.

Service Ace by Cassandra Carr
Callum Giovanni's professional tennis career is over. He's trying not to be bitter about it, even though it means teaching women more interested in not messing up their hair and nails than a good service. Then Adriana Macy appears, claiming to be a novice, but Callum knows there's more to her than meets the eye. How far does she want to take their personal match? The ball's in her court.

Up to the Hilt by Cynthia Carr
Olympic fencing wunderkind Sebastian Como is Rina Rogers’ last resort to find someone who can instruct her toward her own Olympic medal. All her other trainers have balked, saying she is too impulsive, too unmanageable, too everything. Sebastian recognizes her talent and tells her he'll take her all the way. But does that include his bed?

Playing Through by Cristal Ryder
A relationship is the last thing Lexie is looking for, especially one with a hot cowboy wanting golf lessons. It's all she can do to keep her focus on the game and off Jay’s hard muscled body and devilishly sexy face. But the more lessons they have, the farther his sexy drawl gets under her skin.

Does he feel the attraction too? Mother Nature forces them to seek shelter as the power of nature lets loose around them. Will they go primal and unleash their attraction for one another amidst the rawness of the Rocky Mountains?
