Review: Divide & Conquer (Cut & Run, #4) by Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux

Title: Divide & Conquer
Series: Cut & Run, #4
Author: Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux
Genre: Male/Male Romance, Mystery, Thriller,
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Edition: Paperback
Pages: 320
Purchase: Amazon |
In Divide & Conquer Ty and Zane are still together and working for the FBI. Right now the city of Baltimore, Maryland, is in chaos. Violence is racking the city and it is hardly safe to go to any events or out at night. The police, FBI among other government law enforcement agencies are catching the blame because they have not caught the people responsible for inciting the violence and planting bombs yet. While planting bombs the bad guy has also been simultaneously robbing banks.

All of this comes to a head, or comes on Ty and Zane’s head, when they are shoved in to public spotlight by a reporter and Ty calls the people(s) responsible out.

It has a good-bad affect. It calms the people some, having now seen that the FBI is going to take action, but it also angers not just their boss off but the bomber/robber as well.

He goes directly after Ty now, while still accomplishing his other goals of bombing, killing people and robbing banks.

When Zane is hurt and left out of action with the possibly of never working again

Ty is there for him. But Ty, and possible Zane as well, are in the middle of it all with tensions and emotions running high and hot.

*deep breath* I have been waiting to read Divide & Conquer, the fourth book in the Cut & Run Series, since it first came out. However I had to delay until now because I wanted to just go ahead and get all of them in paperback, that way I was not buying the eBook and then the print copy as well. Well, I officially have the whole series (unless there will be more than 6 books, my God, I hope there is going to be more than 6 books!) and got to read Divide & Conquer, finally!

It. Was. Amazing.

Divide & Conquer is the last book in the Cut & Run Series by both Abigail Roux and Madeleine Urban. I was shocked to hear the news that Madeleine Urban would not be writing anymore but I also understand her reasons.

I was, however, thrilled to learn the series would still go on by Abigail Roux.

*Now we return you to the review!*

On their last undercover mission (book 3), Ty told Zane he loved him but Zane never returned the words and this among other things is definitely putting a strain on their relationship. Zane is afraid, he loves Ty of course but just cannot get the words out it seems and Ty starts to waver. Ty loves Zane, and Zane knows it but after a talk with a long-time friend he is starting to doubt that Zane really does love him—he needs to hear it but Zane doesn’t seem like he is going to say it.

Ty is wonderful but when Zane is hurt he is really there for him and with the way Zane is hurt (I do not want to give anything away if I can help it) I think a lot of things come out n this book between the two of them that may have taken who knows how long had Zane not been.

Divide & Conquer, as before, was amazing. It was wonderful to get back to Ty and Zane and how they were. This book in some ways felt like the bomber plot and everything did not mean much, more secondary things, and that the authors really wanted the relationship between Ty and Zane to be the main plot.

That was not a bad thing however; I thought it was great to finally focus on their relationship and how they felt about each other. I feel like we have been working up to it forever or at least three books.

I know they still have a long way to go, very few people know they are together more than just work partners but it was wonderful to finally have the relationship solidified, out loud to each other, as more than just sex and partnership.

Speaking of sex—Ty is the top in this book! ;) In the last book because of their undercover operation Ty was being pretty submissive, but he definitely takes the upper hand in this book and boy was it hot! Not that I mind who is doing what but through most all of the last book it was Zane, and this one was Ty; I do wonder if it will be Zane for the next book…I can not remember if the first two books went back and forth like that…

Overall, Ty and Zane are unique and unforgettable characters that will stick with you though a thousand other readers. They are my go-to books for a great m/m romance read.

The plot, again the bomber/bank robber felt secondary to the relationship to me in this one, unlike the bad guy’s plot in the past books, but at the same time was very significant to the book. We learn more about Ty’s past in this book outside of his family, more about is recon team.

The ending—Omg! After everything relationship wise that we went though in this book I am not sure what happened there! But we are left with a pretty huge cliffhanger and no idea what s going on really. I highly recommend having book five on hand so you are not left in too much suspense!

This is a must read for anyone who has read the first three books in the series. I highly recommend the series as a whole to anyone who likes m/m romance; you will not be disappointed!

5 Moons!
