I have been blogging for almost two years now. My 2 year blogoversary is Dec. 12 and I have to say that after all that time I still cringe inwardly (sometimes outwardly) every time I get asked for the number of my average ‘page views’. Not because mine are not high or anything but; how in the world am I supposed to know?
Sure, Blogger will tell me monthly. For example, it is November so right now it is showing my total page view number for last month. However, it does not keep up with them. Next month it will be showing my November total page view number and that October one will be history.
I have signed up on quite a few sites that are supposed to give you your number of page views of the month but it seems each one tells me something different.
To add to the confusion I have some people asking me what about my number of page ‘hits’. I have heard hits do not really matter because you cannot really count blog traffic that way. But people still ask; I cannot even guess that for Full Moon Bites; I do not have anything that counts/calculates it.
I have been thinking about it for a while but today I was filling out a form for something that asked my number of page views and I wanted to scream that I have no idea. Lol Of course I did not...maybe.
Overall, I am confused, and I know I cannot be the only one that is stumped on this. So I wanted to ask you, my lovely followers who have blogs or sites: do you know with exact certainty what your average monthly page views are?
How do you count them and wouldn’t the average number fluctuate? Either going up or down over time?
