In Guardians of Stone we meet Kendall Morgan a woman with a special talent at finding relics and sometimes even sensing there past.

A few months ago she was hired by sexy and mysterious billionaire Nathan Larra to help him track down relics. When he calls her in about a new hunt in Italy she is surprised to learn she will not being going alone but with Jake Stone, a sexy mercenary.

Nathan is sending them off in search of an ancient box one that could be very dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands. He does not give them much information to go on. Only that they are to find the ancient box, showing them a vague sketch of the box, meet a contact in Italy that may know more about a secret order that has supposedly protected the box.

It is with the order that Nathan believes they will find the box.

The order is not going to be that easy to find, even with a possible contact that may know more about it. It is shrouded in mystery and no one really seems to know much about it except for stories of a curse that has kept the people of the town away from the lands where the castle of the order lies.

To make matters worse the relic has also drawn the attention of the ‘Reaper’ a

man who has been buying up all of the valuable relics he can find and Nathan believes they must find the box before the Reaper does. The box is much too important, powerful, for such a man to get his hands on it.

Thrown into a mystery and hunt for an elusive relic Kendall and Jake have to navigate through a minefield of danger and enemies—not to mention a few curses and ancient booby-traps.

I absolutely loved Guardians of Stone!!

When I was given the chance to review it I was thrilled—I have not read anything by author Anita Clenney that I did not like and Guardians of Stone is not the exception.

The whole premise of the book/series is very interesting; four powerful relics that are being protected and cannot fall into the wrong hands, or even chance being together in the same location together in case it was found.

Kendall’s talent is neat. She has dedicated her life to hunting down relics and has the ability to know the history of things she touches. Of course her gift kind of has a mind of its own and does not only work on objects, sometimes people, too. Other times it tells her nothing at all.

Kendall usually gets ‘feelings’ about things that usually leads her in the right direction. She is also super impulsive about following her feelings, sees the occasional ghost and has the hots for her partner/bodyguard Jake Stone.

Jake Stone (Honestly, I love that name. lol) acts like an absolutely lecher when he and Kendall meet, and continues to pretty much the entire book. Not to put you off, it is often times funny and pretty much a front on his part to keep her at a distance. He is very dedicated to keeping her safe, too. He is always ordering Kendall around to try to keep her safe, but she never listens to him. Her impulsive nature to follow her feelings always win out, and it drives him crazy.

Sadly they do not do the deed in this book. That does not mean that Guardians of Stone isn’t rife with sexual tension. Jake and Kendall want each other in the most basic way and it shows. However after spending more time together you can see the attraction growing into something more than just lust.

I have to admit that I am very interested in learning more about Nathan. He is very mysterious from the start and always has been according to Kendall and Jake but recently something has been going on with him. Something that has given him super-strength and the occasional glowing eyes. We learn a little about it throughout the book and I have a guess but in the end never really learn for sure what is happening to him, just enough to drive me crazy wanting to know more. I hope that in the second novel we find out what is happening to him.

Overall I loved Guardians of Stone and I want more! Filled with action, adventure, mystery, paranormal, sexual tension galore and two very sexy men it hooked me from the very first page and continued at a fast past pace that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for a great paranormal mystery/romance, urban fantasy read.
