Review: The Accidental Encore by Christy Hayes #FMBBooks

Title: The Accidental Encore
Author: Christy Hayes
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: NA
Format: Ebook
Length: NA
Purchase: Amazon

Book Description:

Long after crushing heartbreak turned Craig Archer away from women, he calls on beautiful piano teacher Allie Graves when he’s left for two weeks to watch his niece and all hell breaks loose. Their unlikely friendship fuels an attraction they both attempt to stifle.

Optimistic Allie continues her search for love despite a disastrous relationship and a string of bad dates. She never expects to be tempted by a guy like Craig; he’s rude, crude, and his rough edges are sharp enough to draw blood.

The sparks from their smoldering attraction threaten to ignite a tortured past Craig has worked hard to smother. Allie’s fears that a relationship with Craig will end in heartbreak are about to come true when their passion forces an encore that could make or break their chance for a future.

I enjoyed The Accidental Encore. It was my second novel by author Christy Hayes and it really confirms my thoughts about the author—she is a wonderful contemporary romance writer and I can only imagine she is going to get better.

We have two characters in The Accidental Encore and they differ quite a bit; Allie Graves is looking for love, desperately. She wants the whole thing, loving husband with a good job, 2.5 kids and a white picket fence.

Craig Archer wants nothing to do with love, not after the heartbreak of his last relationship.

When the two crash together (pun intended) they
form an unlikely friendship and it is not long before they are falling for each other; Allie willingly, gleefully even. But Craig fights it, running scared until he has to face the facts and Allie.

From the very start you know Allie and Craig are going to have some kind of relationship. Allie finds Craig rude, crass, and complains about him all the time but he really hears her and sees past her looks which, while admittedly self-conscious Allie knows she is beautify to men, intrigues her all the more.

I really felt for Craig; he has been caring around this horrible secret for so long with so much anger and pain that he has just cut himself off and not even entertained the notion of another relationship. Until Allie.

These two were perfect for each other. A classic contemporary romance novel that I would recommend to anyone looking for a great romance read.

*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher/tour site; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.
