Book Description:

When Regina’s friends insist on setting her up a “Fantasy Fix” to help her get over her cheating ex, she dreams up some kinky out-of-this-world encounters that they could never possibly bring to life. But the next thing Regina knows, her friends have got her laced into a shiny black corset, tight leather pants, and a sexy pair of stilettos. It’s time for some downtown vampire-fantasy fun. . . .

The Vampire Ball in Manhattan’s East Village isn’t really Dmitri Vidâme’s idea of a good time, but as a member of the Council that governs the Others, he has to keep an eye on all the young vamps who prey on the pretenders. After he feasts his dark eyes on fiery Regina at the bar, he knows that he must have her. But for the first time Dmitri meets a woman who is more than a match for his indomitable will. And he may be the fantasy Regina hoped for… until she—and her feisty friends—discover her sexy new lover’s bloodsucking secret…

This is ‘kind’ of my second read One Bite With a Stranger. I read the original book when it was part of her Ellora's Cave Fixed series.

I was actually looking to do a reread when I found out the Fixed series was being rewritten and added to The Others series. I was surprised but I bought book one again and started to read.

At first it was pretty much exactly like the original book but
then things started to change and honestly? There is one part of the book where I know something else happened in between events and it is even mentioned by the characters that it happened but in never happens in this book. It is not there at all, the chapter ended before it happened.

So I was a little confused when the characters made mention of the event happening when it did not happen in this book. It kind of pulled me out of the story for a minute and then I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Even now! LOL

I loved Misha, he was super old world and was very dominate and possessive. He was also a vampire so it couldn’t get much better.

Reggie was strong and independent—she was also pretty afraid to admit her desires at first. She was very sexually submissive; she and Misha clicked perfectly in their desires. However Reggie was very clear that she was only submissive in bed and had no problems running her own life. Misha understood this and even though he had ‘dominate overlord’ down to a fine art he never pushes Reggie to submit in any time outside of the bedroom.

One thing my feelings are clear on with both books though is that I didn’t like Ava. She was the head of their friend group and I honestly thought she was a bitch and wanted to smack her, or for Reggie to smack her and tell her off. To me it felt like she wanted to control her friends’ lives even though it is mentioned that she is very protective of them.

Overall though I really liked it. One Bite With a Stranger was hot, sexy and even though a rewrite and release it had a good bit of content that was not in the original so it kept me guessing. However, I think I liked the original one in the Fixed series better.
