Review: Fangs and Lullabies (The Demons Age #1) by Kallysten #FMBbooks

Title: Fangs and Lullabies
Series: The Demons Age #1
Author: Kallysten
Genre: Male/Male Romance, Paranormal Romance,
Publisher: Self
Format: Paperback
Length: 312 pages
Purchase: Amazon | Author

Book Description:

A child’s birth. His first teeth and first steps. School friends and bullies, recess, school plays and science projects. A girl, a crush and a broken heart. These childhood experiences are shared by countless little boys from different horizons.

And yet… Jacob is anything but average. For as long as he has been able to understand, a secret has shaped his life, kept even from his closest friends: his father, Andrew, is a vampire. And so is his other father, Nicholas.

In a strange era when demons are beginning to appear all over the world and threaten humans and vampires alike, the three of them form quite an extraordinary family. And yet, at the same time, they could hardly be more normal.

Two fathers raising a son neither of them ever thought he would have. A Sire and Childe resuming their relationship after years of estrangement. Through snapshots covering Jacob’s life from birth to adulthood, discover this unusual family, and how, in the end, all it takes is love.

I really liked Fangs and Lullabies. It is the first book in Kallysten’s The Demons Age series. I have read book two and absolutely loved it, I think I would have loved this one much more as well if I had not already read book two, Demon and Lullabies.

In these two books we get snapshots throughout Jacobs’s life. Not just one page stories, they are pretty long and ordered correctly as his life went, and that of his parents, until he is seventeen years old.

Demon and Lullabies was also like this but they do not cover exactly the same things. However some of the stuff that happens in book two is really connected to things that happen in Fangs and Lullabies so having read book two before I did get some new knowledge and it was nice to revisit the character but at the same time I knew what was going to happen.

While our focus is Jacob and his life we do get snapshots of Andrew and Nicholas’ relationship, which was always very interesting, and usually pretty hot.

Overall, I loved Fangs and Lullabies. No matter what, Jacob, Andrew and Nicholas are wonderful characters to follow and I fell for them all over again!

I would recommend Fangs and Lullabies to anyone looking for a good paranormal male/male romance.
